Measles Alert: Health department announces Measles outbreak officially over

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has declared the recent measles outbreak officially over, following 42 days without new cases. The outbreak, which occurred in December 2023/January 2024, affected eight Philadelphians and one individual outside the city. Six of the cases required hospitalization but have since been discharged.

As part of the City’s response to the measles outbreak, the Health Department maintained a blog post with the latest information on measles.
