PCA Kicks Off Celebrate Arts and Aging with PECO Artists Luncheon Honoring Older Adult Creators

Bill Conallen

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) kicked off its 23rd annual Celebrate Arts and Aging (CAA) exhibition with a special Artists Luncheon on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at PECO’s Energy Hall. The event honored more than 170 older adult artists whose creative works are featured in this year’s monthlong exhibition, held each May in celebration of Older Americans Month.

The luncheon featured remarks from Wanda Mitchell, PCA Director of Community Engagement, and Carniesha Kwashie, Director of Corporate and Community Impact at PECO, both of whom praised the artists for their talent, dedication, and the inspiration they bring to the community. The program also emphasized that artistic expression is ageless—fostering wellness, self-discovery, and joy throughout the lifespan.

Guests enjoyed a catered lunch and special recognition of this year’s featured artists, followed by group photos and parting gift bags courtesy of PECO.
