Educational Opportunities
Throughout the year, PCA offers a wide range of training and personal development opportunities for professionals and others who work for agencies in the aging network. These include classes to develop writing skills; CPR certification; grantsmanship seminars; stress reduction workshops; and certificate programs.
PCA's 2012 Lawton Conference & Award Luncheon on March 26 will Discuss Aging in Community: Three Models
Members of the aging network and community leaders are invited to PCA’s 2012 M. Powell Lawton Conference on Urban Aging & Award Luncheon on Monday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market St. The conference, ‘Aging in Community: Three Models,’ will feature local and national experts discussing similarities and differences of villages, age-friendly initiatives and Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs). PCA’s annual Lawton Award will be presented to Fredda Vladeck, founding director of the first NORC supportive service program in 1986 and now director of Aging in Place Initiative of the United Hospital Fund (New York). Vladeck has been a longtime advocate for seniors and vulnerable populations.The conference registration fee of $50 includes the awards luncheon. CEU credits will be offered. Register by March 14 at
