The “Aging Revolution” will be kicked off this month in Philadelphia, at the Aging Revolution Summit, attended by more than 500 of the nation’s healthcare policy makers and providers, elected officials and professionals who serve the aging industry.If “Aging Revolution” stirs up visions for you of Granny manning the barricades, cool it. Lissette Ramos grew up in a Spanish-speaking household in North Central Philadelphia, and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Most of her family is from Puerto Rico, and she says she has a deep connection with the Latino culture. That duality has served her well over three and a half years with Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA), first as a care manager and most recently as an
outreach coordinator charged with reaching Latino elders.
“Her job is vital to what we do,” says Rick Spector, PCA’s community relations director.
