In February, 2011, PCA received a grant for a 24-month exploratory study called Walkablity’s Impact on Senior Health (WISH) from the National Institute of Nursing Research of the National Institutes of Health. Read the Summary >>
PCA has been selected by the National Association on Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) to receive two of its 2011 Aging Achievement Awards. PCA’s Age-friendly Philadelphia initiative will receive an award in the Community Living/Livable Communities category. Age-friendly activities include increasing city-wide walkability, improving accessibility of housing and fostering community engagement for all residents in Philadelphia. In the You Name It! category, GenPhilly will also be honored. GenPhilly is a network of professionals from all fields who are working together to make Philadelphia a lifelong community for all ages. The awards will be presented at n4a’s annual conference in July. Read More
