‘The Arts,’ Games, a party for centenarians

In Philadelphia, that means “Seniors Celebrate the Arts,” Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s (PCA) month-long celebration of seniors’ artistic achievements; the Philadelphia Senior Games, May 12-16; and the Mayor’s Centenarian Birthday Party, on May 16.

You can see exhibits of seniors’ artwork at Philadelphia Senior Center, at 509 S. Broad St., and the PECO building, at 2301 Market St. A “Seniors Celebrate the Arts” supplement inside this Milestones includes coupons for cultural institutions, listings of arts-related activities, including free performances, and articles about local cultural efforts.Learn More



500 to compete in Phila. Senior Games,
celebrating Older Americans Month 
 
More than 500 participants are expected to compete in the 23rd Annual Philadelphia Senior Games, Monday through Friday, May 12-16.

Open to Philadelphians age 50 and over, the Games include track and field events, bowling, miniature golf, tennis, swimming competitions and more. You also can choose from a variety of indoor activities, such as basketball shooting contests, line dancing, aerobics, yoga and board games.

A Healthy Lifestyles Expo, Wednesday, May 14, at La Salle University’s Hayman Center, will feature free health screenings, vendor exhibits and displays. Learn More
