The Age-friendly Philadelphia initiative makes innovative use of research data to compliment the work that administrators and planners are conducting to assist older adults. PCA's planners and researchers provide data, maps, and evaluation support for its practice partners. This creates a basis for integrating older adults into existing agendas and helps to confirm the value of linking the physical environment to health outcomes for community projects and grants.
The Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for Philadelphia County, is mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) to produce a four year "area plan" for aging services. For the 2008-2012 Area Plan, click here.
