Letter from President Rodney D. Williams

Welcome to pcaCares.org, the new website
of Philadelphia Corporation for Aging.

This website is designed to be a vital resource for older Philadelphians and those who care for them -- clergy people, professionals in aging services, caregivers, families, legislators, advocates and community members.

For more than 30 years, PCA's Helpline and the Helpline's Resource Directory have provided assistance and information for Philadelphia's seniors and professionals in the aging network. This website puts the wealth of knowledge and information the Helpline has accumulated at your disposal, making all of its resources available to the general public in an easily accessed, searchable format.

Here you will find information on more than 700 different services, programs and activities designed to help older Philadelphians achieve their maximum level of health, independence and productivity.

In addition to these resources, the website includes sections designed to stimulate dialogue on aging issues; opportunities for professional development; and current research.

The site also features a calendar of events with listings ranging from classes at senior community centers to conferences for professionals in the field of gerontology.

In launching this new site, we embark on an endeavor that will continue to grow and mature as we refine and expand its content and capabilities over the weeks, months and years to come.
