Diversified Community Services Seniors Program
A nonprofit social service agency whose mission is to provide services that help individuals and families be self-sufficient and neighborhoods be safe and supportive communities.
Emergency Assistance Shelter Program (DHS)
Provides temporary shelter for individuals who are currently homeless have no permanent residence or are victims of domestic violence. During that time case management services will be provided to assist with securing more permanent housing. Applicants must provide verification of the following: Identity age social security number income and current lease/owner’s license or current water bill.
Families Forward Philadelphia (formerly Travelers Aid Society of Philadelphia)
Provides emergency assistance and case management services to families and individuals “stranded” or homeless in Philadelphia and several neighboring counties. FFP operates the city’s largest privately run shelter for families as well as 75 transitional and permanent residences in West Philly.
Philadelphia Council for Community Advancement (PCCA)
Nonprofit organization that provides financial education and housing counseling services for the purpose of empowering and protecting homeowners and other housing consumers.
Philadelphia Fair Housing Commission
Addresses unfair rental practices in the city.
Provides free legal representation and counsel to low-income older adults ages 60 and over in Philadelphia.
