Emergency Fund Coalition invites nominations for community service awards

The Emergency Fund Coalition (EFC) for Older Philadelphians invites nominations for community service awards honoring those who have helped seniors. Nominees must demonstrate at least five years of quality service to the elderly in human services or any field that positively impacts the lives of seniors, either in a paid position or as a volunteer. They can be any age. Special consideration will be given to those involved in innovative programming. Individuals may not nominate themselves or a member of their immediate family. The deadline for nominations has been extended to Friday, February 24. The EFC will celebrate its 28th anniversary Thursday, June 15. (Venue to be announced.) The awards will be bestowed at the celebration luncheon, which will feature a silent auction and entertainment. The EFC is an alliance of 24 organizations that serve seniors in crisis. Its mission is to raise funds and distribute emergency assistance to needy elderly to purchase fuel, food and other critically needed items.
