The In-Home Support Program (IHSP) provides short-term (up to 6 months) support services through local senior centers to individuals 60 and older. Services help prevent or postpone further decline and promote independence and help the consumer regain control. Consumers receive services delivered in the home, counseling and assistance with accessing benefits and entitlements.
Eligibility: must be a resident of Philadelphia, 60 years or older who are temporarily or situationally homebound due to physical or mental illness, disability, frailty, or extreme weather conditions. This program is NOT designed for consumers who need long-term, or on-going assistance with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and toileting. Eligibility is not based on income.
IHSP provides: home delivered meals; transportation; Adult Day Care (temporary); senior companions; help with household tasks; heavy cleaning; extermination; home repairs; counseling and assistance with accessing benefits and entitlements.
