Senior Center Members Invited to Make Ornaments for Capitol Christmas Tree
Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging John Michael Hall has invited members of senior centers across Pennsylvania to create and donate ornaments for the Christmas tree that will stand in the Capitol Rotunda from early December through early January. The hand-made ornaments will showcase the talents and creativity of Pennsylvania’s older adults. Senior center members are asked to send sturdy, hand-made ornaments by November 24.
Ornaments should be sent to the following address. Please note that donated ornaments cannot be returned.

“The one-of-a-kind ornaments created by members of senior centers have become a holiday tradition that is appreciated by those who work in and visit the Capitol,” Hall said. “These unique expressions of creativity and skill really make the tree special. Last year, hundreds or ornaments were donated and I hope we will have the same enthusiastic participation again this year.”
Pennsylvania has more than 600 senior centers where more than 200,000 people visit each year. Nutritious meals are served at centers to more than 83,000 people annually.
